Legendary surfers were drawn to Dana Point’s waves
Over the years, powerful waves and surfing legends helped Dana Point earn a place of prominence in time with surfing’s rise in popularity. BothSurfer Magazineand Hobie Surfboards were founded in Dana Point. Today, Infinity Surfboards and the Doheny Surf Festival call the seaside retreat their home.
Surfer Today named Salt Creek Beach one of the best Southern California surf spots and noted that “the roots of modern surfing pass by Salt Creek Beach, Dana Point.” The site went on to state that during the late 1950’s and 1960’s, Dana Point was a place where surfers would test out new boards on powerful waves.
One of the talented surfers that rode Dana Point’s choice waves is Ron Drummond, a famed surfer from Capistrano Beach who was known to take his canoe out into the Pacific regularly. Phil Edwards made some waves of his own when he cut back toward the curl while riding Killer Dana, a legendary wave that used to tempt surfers in Dana Point Cove. The world-class surfer is also credited with the first ride on Hawaii’s pipeline that didn’t end in a wipeout. Rounding out the distinguished group are tandem surfers, Steve and Barrie Boehne, who are also fond of Dana Point’s surf scene and own Infinity Surfboards. A few years back,Locale Magazinereported that during the form’s prime, they won more tandem contests than any other teams.
Dana Point’s surfing history goes back further than the 1950’s. In the 1930’s, Lorrin Harrison started crafting boards, something the surfer would do for the rest of his life. He also surfed the largest waves in Dana Point. Another surfer who was fond of massive waves was George “Peanuts” Larson. He is credited with riding the largest wave off the California coast during this period in surf history. He spent his fair share of time on a board in Dana Point too. Preston “Pete” Peterson, who won the Pacific Coast Surfing Championship four times in the 1930’s and early 1940’s, also courted Dana Point’s best waves.

"Normally, I don't like to give someone sweeping 5-star reviews because I typically believe that to be impossible or a lack of realism in the review. However, for Eric, I would consider it a disservice to his skill, professionalism, and quality of his level of service to curb my review in any way.
To be concise: Eric goes the distance. He works incredibly hard, maintains an excellent line of communication, and provides honest opinions on properties.
